A Child's Grief: A Silent Struggle
A Child's Grief: A Silent Struggle
"The death of a parent or sibling has been found to be one of the most stressful life events that a child or youth can experience. Therefore it is important to provide children with information about grief, normalize their responses and encourage them to share their thoughts and feelings." - Canadian Alliance for Children’s Grief
Too often, grieving children feel isolated and alone. They carry the weight of their loss, struggling to understand their emotions and find support.
At NB Copes, we're committed to changing that. We provide a safe space where children can connect with peers, share their experiences, and learn healthy coping strategies.
As one of our young participants shared, "NB Copes encourages me to acknowledge my grief and know that it is okay to be sad or angry and not have to hide away the bad feelings. I felt heard and cared for and important."
But we can't do it alone. Government funding for grief support is limited, leaving nonprofits like ours to fill the gap.
Please help us support grieving children. Your donation will directly impact the lives of young people who need our help. To Donate click here https://nbcopes.ca/donate
