Family Grief Retreat
July 17th 2026
We have received many inquiries about our annual Family Grief Retreat, which is traditionally held over the long weekend each summer, and we wanted to provide an update.
This year, the Family Grief Retreat will be deferred while we continue working to secure additional funding through community partners, sponsors, and donors. As a charitable organization, programs like this are made possible through the generosity of our community, and we are committed to ensuring the retreat is available for the families who rely on it.
While the retreat is being deferred from our usual date, our work is not stopping. We are continuing to seek funding so we can welcome families back to this program soon. Stay tuned for more opportunities to connect with us in the months ahead.
If you are in a position to help, we would be incredibly grateful for your support. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to welcoming families back to the Family Grief Retreat.
Visit our Family Retreat Donation page to donate.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support NB Copes and our mission. Your generosity helps us provide grief support to individuals and families across New Brunswick, and we look forward to sharing updates as we move forward 💙
About our Family Grief Retreat
Our retreat is for families who have experienced a death in their immediate family. We host 10-12 families each summer for a 3-night, 4-day retreat. This retreat offers a variety of support from our interdisciplinary volunteer team, which includes Art Therapists, Music Therapists, Counsellors, Social Workers, Psychologists, Nurses, and Yoga Instructors. Our model focuses on creating a safe space for families to heal and fostering connections among participants. We follow a schedule that provides a balance of structured activities and downtime. For more details on what each day will look like check out of video below outlining what a typical day at the retreat entails.
The cost to attend is $200 per family, however no one will be turned away for financial reasons.
